Tudor Bronze Door Handles

These amazing design of door handles are British made, traditionally sandcast bronze door handles, which are each individually finished by hand. Very highly-crafted, these door handles are available in a huge choice of finishes; including real bronze (as shown in the photo) and also cast brass and plated finishes, from aged and antique brass, all the way to contemporary finishes, such as chrome and nickel.

The door handle in the photo is shown in “Tudor Bronze”. This isn’t a bronze “finish” on brass, but is real, traditionally sandcast bronze, which is barrell-rolled to give a slightly pitted effect, making this finish more rustic in appearance.

These bronze door handles are actually available in three types of real bronze – Tudor Bronze (as shown in the photo), Real Antique Bronze and Polished Bronze (gunmetal).

The “real antique bronze” is sandcast bronze, which is aged prematurely in a kiln and then polished by hand. This gives a beautiful patinated finish and also brings out the rainbow colours often seen in bronze.

Polished bronze is again sandcast bronze, which is polished up to a very high sheen. Rather than the brown patinated colour of antique bronze, polished bronze (often known as gunmetal) is a “coppery” colour, with a hint of pink.
